Manager Accounting & Reporting

Our client is a major international distributor of Fast Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG). This global organisation seamlessly manages the distribution of their clients' A-brand products in over 75 countries. To support current and future growth, the company is looking for an ambitious, independent and solution-oriented Manager Accounting & Reporting with a hands-on mentality. The Manager Accounting & Reporting is part of the organisation's Finance Management Team. In this role you lead a team of 7 FTE (Senior) Accountants and an Assistant Manager Accounting & Reporting. You will report to the Manager Finance & Control.

As Manager Accounting & Reporting, you are the team's motivator and drive the further professionalisation of the processes. You show leadership, make decisions, oversee responsibilities and are aware of changes in the Accounting & Reporting domain. What does this look like?

• Oversee, monitor and evaluate all accounting processes to ensure timely and complete accounting processes according to laws, regulations and internal requirements;
• Monthly consolidation with checks and balances on accruals, intercompany transactions, consolidation eliminations, participations, external shareholders and equity;
• Consults with the Financial Control team on changes in laws and regulations that may affect the requirements of the accounting process;
• Coaching of team members, discussing team/personal goals, semi-annual reviews and year-end reviews;
• Consults with the Business Control team on (new) internal requirements to further decision-making;
• Establish and share vision on development, retention and backup of people in your team;
• Schedule, prepare and lead team meetings according to the Finance Strategy schedule;
• Setting up all accounting and financial reporting processes in the ERP system;
• Preparation, monitoring and updating of the monthly closing schedule;
• Manage the tools used for consolidation and financial reporting;
• Lead the annual audit process with the external auditor;
• Prepare planning for the year-end closing;
• Provide timely reporting of relevant taxes.

Apart from having a solid understanding of and track record in Accounting, the ideal candidate is a real people manager, is driven, has a strong personality, and is able to deliver within deadlines.

Other important requirements are: 

• A Bachelor's or Master's degree (HBO/WO) in Accounting, Controlling, Finance or a similar field;
• 5-7 years of relevant working experience of which at least 1 year on the Dutch labor market;
• Hands-on, pro-active, structured and a team player with an open mindset;
• Knowledge of Microsoft Navision, Qlickview, XI-reporting is a plus; 
• Familiarity with the Dutch accounting standards & guidelines;
• Independent, able to develop a vision and make decisions; 
• Must have experience managing a small team (4,5 FTE);
• Fluent in English (Dutch is a plus).
