Business Controller

Our client is a major international distributor of Fast Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG). This global organisation seamlessly manages the distribution of their clients' A-brand products in over 75 countries. To support current and future growth, the company is looking for an experienced Business Controller with a hands-on mentality. The Business Controller is part of the Business Control department and reports to the Manager Business Control. The Business Controller is part of the Finance Operations Team and is responsible for Business Control tasks related to assigned Commercial Divisions and/or Enabling Functions Departments.

As Business Controller, you act as a business partner between finance and the organisation. You are responsible for the monthly closing process, the budget process and ad-hoc requests. You are committed to supporting the high performance team culture. Your tasks include:

• Supporting the Senior Business Controllers with the preparation of business update reports for external partnerships;
• To analyse the P&L and KPI dashboards of the divisions/departments and submit areas for improvement with regard to business performance;
• Taking responsibility for the role as contact person for analytical queries for commercial divisions and departments;
• Analysing monthly figures to provide insight into the month's financial developments;
• Supporting the Senior Business Controllers with analysis of the monthly Board and MT dashboard;
• Compiling the annual budget for the division/department under your responsibility;
• Analysing and reporting on (non-) financial matters based on ad-hoc business requests;
• Updating KPI reports so that they continue to add value to the business;
• Supporting the Business Control team in finalising the collective budget;
• Assisting the leadership teams in preparing and updating the business plan;
• Identifying trends to provide insight to the business;
• Piloting the monthly business review meetings;
• Updating the budget forecast on a quarterly basis.

The ideal candidate is communicatively strong and feels at home in a highly dynamic environment. Furthermore, the following is important:

• Completed education (HBO/WO) in Business Economics;
• Excellent command of the English and Dutch language;
• Experience in logistics/warehouse sector is a plus;
• Independent & results-oriented character;
• 3 to 5 years of relevant work experience;
• Affinity with ESG is a plus.
