Our client is a European and global leader in its field. The organization has several offices in Europe and is part of a larger group headquartered in the US. To strengthen their Finance team, the company is looking for a GL Accountant. The candidate will have solid experience in a GL accountant position. You will be part of a team of four General Ledger colleagues and work closely with three Financial Controllers. You will report to the Group Controller EU.

 Responsible for current, accurate and analyzed data in general ledgers.

• Preparing and improving standardized profit and loss accounts and balance sheet.
• Checking reconciliations between accounts receivable/ payable sub-accounts and the general ledger.
• Maintaining accounting activities (periodic entries, fixed assets).
• Entering payroll entries into the general ledger.
• Performing timely periodic closings.

• College-level education in Accounting, Finance or Business
• 3-5 years of relevant work experience in GL Accounting
• You are technically literate and proficient in MS Office (especially Excel)
• Excellent command of the English language (Dutch is a plus)
• You have a valid NL/EU work permit (sponsorship is not possible)
• Good communication skills
